WWE 205 Live Review - November 14, 2017

Cedric Alexander and Rich Swann def. Gentleman Jack Gallagher and The Brian Kendrick in a Tornado Tag Team Match

This is one feud that I've thoroughly enjoyed and has flown under the radar on 205 Live because of the matches the two teams have produced together. It blew my mind that Kalisto's birthday celebration was hyped for this edition of 205 Live and not this excellent match, but at any rate, they told an awesome story from start to finish with the babyfaces nearly succumbing to defeat and ultimately emerging victorious. The in-ring action was entertaining and it was cool to see Alexander pick up the win for his team in his hometown of Charlotte.

Mustafa Ali def. Ariya Daivari

Daivari isn't a bad performer by any means, but in my opinion, he is essentially the Jinder Mahal of the Cruiserweight division in that all of his promos and matches are bland and boring. Ali is a tremendous wrestler, but he unfortunately couldn't carry Daivari to an exciting affair. The audience sat on their hands for this, but on the bright side, Ali won as he should have.

Kalisto def. Drew Gulak

We just saw this match not too long ago on Raw and it was over in a minute or less. Thus, it seemed silly to have them face off in an actual competitive contest on this show because the crowd didn't invest in or react to anything they did. The Enzo Amore vs. Kalisto feud peaked way too early and everything since Kalisto won the title in early October has been completely forgettable. The real tease here was Enzo going face-first into the cake at ringside, which didn't happen until both he and Kalisto were backstage.

Overall Show

People who don't normally check out 205 Live (and I don't blame you) should definitely watch the tag team match that kicked off the show because it showcased the skills of the four Superstars and was a blast of a bout. Everything else, however, was mediocre at best. I don't myself excited whatsoever for Enzo vs. Kalisto for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship at Survivor Series, so thankfully, that has since been relegated to the Kickoff show.
