WWE 205 Live Review - November 14, 2018

Drew Gulak and Gentleman Jack Gallagher def. The Brian Kendrick and Akira Tozawa

Despite their differences and their past bad blood, Kendrick and Tozawa joined forces to take on two common enemies in Gulak and Gallagher. It was a well-wrestled match with a nice pace and a solid story told. Kendrick and Tozawa appeared to be on the same page throughout, but it wasn't enough to earn them the victory. Kendrick will have to wait a little longer before he can get his revenge on Gulak.

The Lucha House Party def. Mike Karma and Kraig Keesaman

The Lucha House Party arrived on Raw with some buzz a few weeks ago, but they already feel like just another tandem in the division. They're a ton of fun together and this was another enjoyable outing from them where they showcased their skills and hit all their high-flying moves. Afterward, Maria Kanellis appeared on the screen, so it looks like her husband Mike will be continuing to feud with The Lucha House Party going forward. Hopefully he comes out on the winning end.

Cedric Alexander def. Lio Rush

I've been looking forward to these two mixing it up since Rush arrived on 205 Live earlier this year and they definitely did not disappoint. For the past month or so, Alexander has been struggling to win when it matters most, while Rush has been stacking up win after win and building confidence and credibility along the way. It was an excellent contrast, and in addition to the in-ring action being entertaining, they played those roles extraordinarily well. It very well could have gone either way, but in the end, Alexander overcame his demons by emerging victorious and handing Rush his first loss.

Overall Show

I had hopes for Alexander vs. Rush, and although it wasn't one of the best bouts I've ever seen on 205 Live, it still succeeded in being an above-average main event that told a strong story. The rest of the show was solid as well with The Lucha House Party getting some shine ahead of Survivor Series, Gulak and Gallagher getting one over on Kendrick and Tozawa, and Buddy Murphy vs. Mustafa Ali for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship at Survivor Series receiving an awesome video package.
