WWE 205 Live Review - November 28, 2017

Rich Swann def. Noam Dar

Of course, these two have had their fair share of matches against each other in the past (remember when they had that rivalry earlier this year that would just never end?), so this was a good enough match between them. The outcome was never in doubt, but it was a nice way to plant the seeds for a potential Swann vs. Enzo Amore feud and to give Swann an additional momentum boost coming off his big Raw win.

Kalisto def. Gentleman Jack Gallagher by Disqualification

These two had a halfway decent match a few weeks ago on 205 Live, but when the crowd in England that night couldn't have cared less about it (and Gallagher is English, obviously), what made you think the fans in attendance for this show would be any better? They sat on their hands for it despite being the bout being well-wrestled, and it looks like they're headed for a full-fledged program based off how the heels ambushed Kalisto afterward. Could Sin Cara return to the Cruiserweight division and reunite with Kalisto? I might not actually mind seeing that, to be honest.

Tony Nese and Drew Gulak def. Cedric Alexander and Mustafa Ali

This was about as average of a main event as they come where there technically wasn't anything wrong with it, but nothing about the match was memorable whatsoever. The four wrestlers worked well together and put forth a solid effort, but I ultimately wasn't invested in anything they did. However, I will say they did a decent job of teasing tension between Alexander and Ali heading into next Monday's Fatal 4-Way match where we will get one step closer to crowning a new championship contender.

Overall Show

As noted at the top of the show by the commentators, this edition of 205 Live marked the one year anniversary of the program, and it basically summed up 205 Live in a nutshell. There is rarely anything too great or too terrible on the show, which is why no one is ever talking about it. The three matches on this episode were fine albeit forgettable, and while I commend them for stretching out the storyline in finding a new challenger for Enzo as well as bringing in Hideo Itami, the division could be considered damaged goods by this point.
