Boa def. Jeet Rama

I was going to call Rama one of WWE's newest recruits from India, but he's actually been under a developmental deal with the company since 2015. If he isn't TV ready by this point, when will he ever be? I thought he had a solid showing against AJ Styles at Superstar Spectacle earlier this year, but there was never any follow-up. Meanwhile, Boa is just abysmal and the Tian Sha act is nothing without Xia Li. This was pretty much what you'd expect it to be in that it was nothing special.

Josh Briggs and Carter Jensen def. Keagan Scott and Taylor Garland

I'm sorry but Briggs and Jensen do nothing for me. I realize NXT needs new teams, but they aren't interesting in the slightest. At least they're fairly competent in the ring, especially Briggs. They just come off as a generic, thrown-together version of the APA and The Revival (or maybe Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch?). This was a standard squash for them that allowed them to bounce back following their failure to become NXT Tag Team Champions last week.

NXT Cruiserweight Champion Roderick Strong def. Odyssey Jones (Non-Title)

On one hand, it was cool to have the NXT Cruiserweight Champion back on 205 Live for the first time in over two months (and one of the only times all year). That said, it was weird for the champion of the Cruiserweight division (or what's left of it) to take on one of the biggest dudes on the NXT roster. The Cruiserweight title was irrelevant here, but Jones needs to be working with more experienced guys and Strong is as perfect as anyone given how long he's been in the business. They had a pretty good match with Jones once again impressing in defeat.

Overall Show

Would it kill WWE to change the name of this program? The Cruiserweight division is dead as far as I'm concerned. It's basically becoming a half-hour version of NXT, which is fine if the idea is to give these guys and girls more exposure and experience. The wrestling isn't nearly as exciting as it used to be, but this was a serviceable show with a rare appearance from the Cruiserweight champ in the main event.
