WWE 205 Live Review - September 10, 2021

Valentina Feroz def. Katrina Cortez

Feroz has worked as an enhancement talent on NXT TV on a few occasions while Cortez previously wrestled as as either Catalina or Carolina (I don't remember which) on Raw for a brief period with Sin Cara against Andrade and Zelina Vega. She was and still is, even two years later, a work in progress. I'm all for women's matches becoming a regular occurrence on 205 Live, but this was not good at all. They didn't click, neither of them were too impressive, and there was that one awful botch in the middle. Maybe putting the inexperienced people in the ring with more experienced wrestlers would be a better idea?

Odyssey Jones and Trey Baxter def. Joe Gacy and Josh Briggs

We've reached a point on 205 Live where a tag team main event features three heavyweights and one Cruiserweight. Can we please scrap the damn Cruiserweight branding already please? At any rate, Gacy and Briggs have split wins on the show over the last month and they had to coexist here. Ultimately, they were not successful. Jones and Baxter worked well as partners and it was a solid tag team match with Baxter taking a beating and Jones getting that hot tag.

Overall Show

I hate to say it because I really want to see the women featured more on this show going forward, but Feroz vs. Cortez was one of the worst matches I've seen on 205 Live in some time. They should be working with people that have been around for a while, not each other. The tag team main event was significantly better but hardly must-see. As I've said before, 205 Live has becoming the new breeding ground for up-and-comers, so it's not so much about the in-ring action anymore. Hopefully 205 Live will get revamped in the near future to go along with the new NXT.
