Amari Miller def. Cora Jade205 Live has only featured maybe two or three women's matches since its launch in 2016 (because it was originally intended to be a Cruiserweight-exclusive show after all), and Jade became the first woman in 205 Live history to compete on the show twice, for whatever that's worth. Miller has popped up a time or two on NXT TV as well this year as an enhancement talent. Both women are works in progress, but this was fine. They'll improve over time and with the more opportunities they get. I wish it lasted a little longer, though. Joe Gacy def. Josh BriggsThese two initially went one-on-one last month and Briggs won that encounter. This was another hard-hitting affair from them. It was enjoyable on the whole albeit a bit slow early on. They just may thrive in the new NXT if size is what officials will be focusing on going forward. They're skilled enough and also need more exposure and experience like Jade and Miller. A rubber match is only inevitable. Xyon Quinn def. Andre ChaseQuinn beat Boa a week or two ago on NXT TV, so it appears the powers that be in NXT have plans for him. I figured it'd only be a one-off and nothing would come of his upset win, but I'm glad to have been wrong because the dude has potential. He's intense and has a certain legitimacy about him being a former rugby player. I'm interested to see him continue to develop and having dominant showings like he did against Chase will only help his cause. Overall ShowAs I've said before, 205 Live has basically become NXT's version of Main Event. I assume this goes along with whatever the new vision for NXT is going to be. In that case, just rename the damn show because clearly isn't about the Cruiserweights anymore. At any rate, it's been a while since we had three matches on a single episode of 205 Live, so this was a nice change of pace. I suspect that 205 Live will be less about the wrestling from here on out and more about getting the up-and-comers more reps. It'll still serve a purpose in that sense, but the days of it featuring some of the best wrestling of the week in WWE are likely long gone.
