WWE Main Event Review - April 28, 2020

Bianca Belair def. Catalina

Catalina looked impressive against Asuka last week and had a solid showing here as well. Both ladies still need a bit more polishing, but all things considered, this was a pretty good match. Belair's athleticism and power was too much for Catalina to overcome, though Catlina scored a decent amount of offense before succumbing to defeat. I really hope WWE has a plan for Belair on the main roster aside from having her solely serve as The Street Profits' hype girl.

Murphy def. Humberto Carrillo

Murphy reestablished himself as Seth Rollins' "disciple" on Monday's Raw, which is the best call. There's still a lot more to explore there with the two of them. As for this outing, it was hard-hitting, fast-paced and very enjoyable. Like Belair and Catalina, Carrillo still has some rough edges he has to smooth out, but otherwise, he's a blast to watch and I thought he had quality chemistry with Murphy here. Murphy winning was the right result.

Overall Show

The fresh matches keep on coming on Main Event. As I've said before, Main Event is a much more bearable show now than it has been in years. Both of these bouts were well-wrestled and were given a decent amount of time. I usually skip over the SmackDown stuff, but the Raw replays are normally worth sitting through again with the show being better lately. This was another solid edition of Main Event with some fun in-ring action.
