WWE Main Event Review - April 28, 2022

Liv Morgan def. Nikki A.S.H.

I wouldn't worry too much about Morgan wrestling on Main Event since it's clear she has direction on Raw right now in her feud with Rhea Ripley. As for Nikki A.S.H., I can't believe she's still coming out to the same entrance music with the same attire despite turning heel months ago. The superhero stuff sucks and is not doing her any favors (despite it being her idea in the first place). At any rate, this was a nice little match and I liked the aggression Morgan showed while selling the leg. It was in line with her actions from this week's Raw.

The Street Profits def. The Hurt Business

Similar to Morgan, Street Profits competing on Main Event this week isn't a bad omen at all because they've been consistently featured on Raw recently and appear to be in the midst of a heel turn. They faced a heel team here in Hurt Business, but the fact they were more intense than usual (specifically Ford) was noticeable. There was a sequence in the middle where it looked like Montez Ford botched while Cedric Alexander was running the ropes, but they improvised nicely. That was well done. This was the enjoyable outing you'd expect from these two teams.

Overall Show

I forgot to mention this last week, but I'm digging the new opening video for Main Event. Granted, none of the Superstars featured in it are actually ever featured on this program, but the new music is appreciated considering it's been the same since 2014 I believe. By normal Main Event standards, this was an above-average episode featuring two quality matches. The fresh faces (Morgan and Street Profits) helped as well.
