Jey Uso def. Konnor
What's worse than another Usos vs. Ascension match? Putting them in singles competition! Sure, I guess it's something different, but as I've said time and time again, The Usos hardly interest me as singles competitors, and The Ascension aren't much better. This was mostly superkicks galore from Jey and then Konnor taking most of his offense and signature spots. It was a fine win for Jey, but needless to say, The Usos are in desperate need of a major shake-up sometime soon.
American Alpha def. Breezango
I really loved the match these two tandems had in the first round of the tag team tournament, as I thought it was the perfect opportunity for Breezango to prove themselves as more than just a goofy act. They contested a similarly solid match here, but it ultimately wasn't as good, possibly due to a dead live crowd. They tried, though, and it was a nice little match in the allotted time, just not nearly as entertaining as their initial outing.
In case you didn't notice, WWE took the first round matches in the tag title tournament from SmackDown the week before and put them on the subsequent edition of Main Event, except with Jey Uso facing Konnor instead of an Usos vs. Ascenson rematch. It was an uninspiring hour of wrestling as a result, though the second match was at least enjoyable while it lasted.
