Eric Young def. No Way Jose
Young and Jose have faced off on Main Event before, so this was nothing new. I will say that Jose's congo line catching him on the outside before Young jumped on top of them was kind of a cool spot, but that was the only thing that stood out about this bout to me. Young did avenge his loss to Jose from two weeks ago, so there was that. Expect these two to continue to trade wins on Main Event until the end of time (or at least until one of them is released).
Ricochet def. Cedric Alexander
Yes, Ricochet vs. Cedric Alexander actually happened on an episode of WWE Main Event in 2019. Byron Saxton noted that this marked the first time they've ever gone one-on-one, so I wish it would have been saved for Raw instead (or at least for when it would have mattered). What we got from them was fun but criminally short. It sucks that these guys have been completely marginalized lately and haven't been involved in anything of note in months.
Jose and Young had a fun little match two weeks ago, but their encounter this week wasn't as enjoyable. Meanwhile, you'd think Ricochet vs. Alexander would be worth going out of your way to watch, but they weren't given much time at all, which was underwhelming. Main Event is an hour long. Could WWE have not spared another five minutes for their matchup? The rest of this episode was filled with replays from Raw and SmackDown i.e. nothing you need to see.
