Dana Brooke def. Briana RayI was pleasantly surprised to read on Monday that Ray (a.k.a. Kylie Rae) took part in the Main Event tapings considering she was at the tryouts WWE held only a week ago. Does this mean she has officially signed? I believe mental health and/or other personal reasons were why her AEW, IMPACT and NWA runs came to an abrupt end, so hopefully she's doing better now and is able to sign with WWE full-time because she can definitely be an asset to their women's division (whether it be on the main roster or NXT). This was a perfectly fine match and a bit better than most of Brooke's other outings lately. She hasn't won in a while, not to mention she probably be losing to someone who likely hasn't committed to a deal yet (or at least I haven't read anything). Mustafa Ali and Cedric Alexander def. Edris Enofe and Malik BladeI loved the two backstage segments we got with both of these teams leading up to this match. The first one saw Enofe and Blade introducing themselves to Ali and Alexander upon arriving at the arena, and the second saw Ali tell Alexander that he was tired of doing the right thing and that he'd go about things his own way during the match. That was an interesting story to tell and it made the match more enjoyable as a result. I'm glad Enofe and Blade got a look as a team and not as singles competitors because their value is largely as a team right now (hence why I was surprised Katana Chance was without Kayden Carter on Main Event a week or two ago). This was fun stuff and I'm curious where the story with Ali and Alexander is headed (if anywhere). Overall ShowBy Main Event standards, this was an above-average show. I would love for WWE to start using possible signees on Main Event (KC Navarro or Vincent being next would be awesome). They're not technically on TV, but they're still getting a look in front of a live crowd. Ray's appearance was obviously notable (even though the match itself wasn't), and the tag team match was entertaining and seemed to progress a storyline with Ali and Alexander that has me intrigued. Props to those in charge of Main Event for gradually improving its quality in recent months.
