WWE Main Event Review - December 2, 2014

PictureThe Usos land a double splash on Miz and Mizdow.
By Graham "GSM" Matthews

Jack Swagger def. Titus O'Neil

The match was half-decent, but it wasn't much more than a showcase for Swagger. The fact they were on his home turf of Oklahoma definitely helped more people get behind him than usual. His post-match promo was very good and proved he isn't terrible without Zeb Colter as his mouthpiece. It's wins like this than will help build his credibility and make him a legitimate threat to Rusev and the United States Championship (even though we all know he won't win).

Gold and Stardust def. Adam Rose and The Bunny

We've seen this match before, so essentially it wasn't anything new. Most of the focus was on the teased tension between Rose and The Bunny, and by this point, I couldn't care less. I've expressed this before, but they've dragged this thing on way too long and I want it to end as much as anyone else. I don't have my hopes up for who will be revealed as the person in the costume, but it needs to end as soon as possible.

Fandango def. R-Truth

You can copy and paste everything I said about the "new and improved" Fandango last week and apply here. Nothing has changed about him at all. What more is there left to say about the guy? And the fact he faced someone as irrelevant as Truth made this match even more forgettable.

Jimmy Uso def. WWE Tag Team Champion The Miz

Without a story behind it, this match would have been nothing out of the ordinary, but I'm very glad they're actually making this feud matter. The inclusion of Naomi/Trinity is also encouraging as she's too talented to be wasted. Jimmy transcended his aggression well both in the match and during his pre-match promo. I now care infinitely more about this feud now that they've given us something more than "both teams want the tag team titles."

Overall Show

Similar to last week, there wasn't anything notable about this show, but there wasn't anything wrong with it, either. There's really not much worth going out of your way to see, but it's not a complete waste of time to sit through. If anything, the main event was solid, but everything else ranged from decent to throwaway.
