Reckoning def. Nikki CrossI know I sound like a broken record at this point, but Mia Yim really deeds to ditch the dumb RETRIBUTION act. Mercedes Martinez was able to escape back to NXT, so why can't Yim? Of course, the biggest difference between her and Martinez is that she's doing all that she could do in NXT, but at least that'd be better than whatever the hell this Reckoning crap is. On the bright side, this was a quality contest between two of Raw's better women's wrestlers. Cross wasn't able to score much offense, but this was a significant improvement over her recent Main Event matches against Peyton Royce and Nikki Cross. Lince Dorado def. Akira TozawaThis is the type of match you'd expect to see on Main Event given that Dorado and Tozawa are both undercard talent, yet it was an absolute blast. I was happy they were given as much time as they were and the action was very entertaining. This is the Tozawa I want to see more of, not the stupid ninja crap he's been subjected to in the latter half of 2020. Meanwhile, the former Lucha House Party continue to shine in singles competition on Main Event. Overall ShowThis was a pretty straightforward edition of Main Event with two well-wrestled matches. It's hard for me to give anything involving RETRIBUTION a thumbs-up, but Reckoning vs. Cross was good stuff. Dorado vs. Tozawa was even better and worth checking out in my opinion. I have no idea why WWE has suddenly decided to put more effort into Main Event for the first time in years, but it's been appreciated as someone who watches week to week.
