By Graham "GSM" Matthews R-Truth def. Heath Slater Is it just me or has this "R-Truth doesn't know what's going on" bit run its course? No, it's not an excuse to "hate" on the guy. I actually thought it was funny when he did it earlier this year and even at the Slammy Awards, but typically, WWE caught on to how humorous it was and decided to shove it down our throats. Meanwhile, I've really warmed up to Slater through his hilarious online interviews and small roles on Raw. He'll obviously never get above a certain level at this point, but WWE could definitely be doing more with him. Both Truth and Slater are good workers, but this match went far longer than it needed to because I started to lose interest toward the end. Titus O'Neil def. Adam Rose I hate to sound like a broken record, but it's so sad to see Rose going through the motions in his matches and looking like he doesn't want to be there (and no, that's not his character). What a deplorable 2015 that guy has had. Here's hoping his new year is better. I'm glad this match was kept short and sweet and didn't drag as the previous match did. O'Neil can have a nice 2016 if WWE continues to give him consistent wins. Jack Swagger def. Stardust
I simply stopped caring about The Ascension not always being in Stardust's corner during his matches because it became evident a while ago that WWE didn't care themselves. Putting aside that neither of these two competitors have anything going for them at the moment, they're great athletes and unsurprisingly contested a very well-wrestled matchup. The whole match was solid, but the final few minutes were especially enjoyable. Swagger has won three matches (including one against Rusev at Tribute to the Troops), so perhaps that's a sign WWE hasn't completely given up on him yet. Overall Show This wasn't a strong show on the whole, but I didn't expect much else for a holiday week. Truth vs. Slater was almost insufferable to sit through and O'Neil vs. Rose was what it was, but at least Swagger vs. Stardust was a pleasant treat. I wouldn't recommend going out of way to watch it, though I would recommend waiting for next week for a potentially better show.
