Nikki Cross def. ReckoningHave I mentioned before how much I think Cross' new entrance music sucks? It's such a downgrade from her old entrance theme. On the bright side, this was another quality contest from these two. Reckoning beat Cross last week, but Cross was able to avenge the loss here. This was a bit more hard-hitting and physical than their previous encounter. Mustafa Ali looked disappointed following Reckoning's loss, but we'll see if it leads anywhere or if it will be dropped like Reckoning calling out Raw Women's Champion Asuka. Angel Garza def. Akira TozawaI really wish WWE would stop wasting time with Garza and just get to whatever this romantic lover angle is with him. He'll appear every so often on Raw, but it's not consistent. Nonetheless, this was a really fun match while it lasted. They weren't given a ton of time, but they definitely made their minutes matter. Tozawa's New Year's resolution should be to convince WWE to allow him to ditch the dumb ninja gimmick because the guy can go and deserves to be spotlighted more. Overall ShowMain Event was back to its old ways here in that there wasn't any angle that was storyline significant like we've seen for the past month, but both matches were well-wrestled and that's all I can ask for. Cross has called Main Event home since moving to Raw, and although that's a shame, at least she can be counted on to deliver most of the time. Plus, you can never go wrong with Garza and Tozawa, so this was a perfectly solid show by Main Event standards.
