WWE Main Event Review - February 17, 2022

Veer def. Apollo Crews

I don't think it's a very positive sign that Crews was contending for the Intercontinental Championship a year ago and now he's on Main Event losing to the dude who has yet to arrive on Raw. I know T-Bar has lost to Veer as well, but T-Bar didn't win a title at WrestleMania last year. There wasn't anything too special about this match, but Crews got to show off some of his offense before eating defeat. Here's hoping that Veer's appearances on Main Event becoming more and more consistent means he'll be coming to Raw sooner rather than later.

Tommaso Ciampa def. T-Bar

I wouldn't read too much into Ciampa appearing on this edition of Main Event. I know he wrestled on two episodes in January and it looked like he could be called up, but there's been no update on that since then, not to mention he was at Monday's Raw taping to further his feud with Dolph Ziggler. That said, I'm happy he was in action because this was a very entertaining, hard-hitting affair and a vast improvement over their original encounter. They got to go all out in the time they were afforded here and it was a damn blast. More of this, please.

Overall Show

Veer vs. Crews was hardly worth writing home about, but it did mark yet another appearance from Veer. The guy is half bad, so hopefully he'll get a shot on Raw eventually and not get released before then. Ciampa vs. T-Bar is well worth checking out, though. I wasn't blown away by their first match last month, but this was more along the lines of what I was hoping for from them. All in all, a solid show this week.
