Riddick Moss def. Titus O'Neil
I was hoping O'Neil's recent match on Main Event against Akira Tozawa was a one-off, but apparently not. I have no desire to see him continuing to compete. Moss remains a work in progress and doesn't do much for me personally, so I didn't have high hopes for this. Sure enough, it was as mediocre as I expected it to be. Moss has won his last few matches on Main Event, but I hope he stays put on this show until he improves some more.
Shayna Baszler def. Ruby Riott
Riott and Baszler are both great and I don't know if this is a match I would have done on Main Event, as I think it was good enough be saved for an eventual episode of Raw. Riott is coming off a rare win on Raw a week ago and I wouldn't have had her lose so soon, though I realize whatever happens on Main Event usually doesn't matter. I really enjoyed this while it lasted and thought Riott looked credible in defeat. She's always been a lot more natural in the babyface role and Baszler is at her best when in domination mode.
I was ready to give up on this edition of Main Event as soon as I saw Riddick Moss was facing Titus O'Neil. You'd be wasting your time if you sat through that. Thankfully, the show bounced back with Baszler vs. Riott as I thought they worked very well together. I never stick around for the replays from Raw and SmackDown, but based on the two original matches alone, I would chalk this up to being a middle-of-the-road show by Main Event standards.
