Drew Gulak def. Lince DoradoAccording to the commentators, last week's Gulak vs. Dorado match was abruptly cut short because Dorado seemingly suffered a knee injury. He was cleared to compete this week, so it might not have been too serious (I'm not even sure if it was legitimate to begin with since I hadn't heard anything about it elsewhere). Either way, this was a better bout than last week, but it's a shame the live crowd didn't care. They were flat for the finish, but I did like how Gulak took advantage of that previously injured knee of Dorado as he was attempting to climb to the top turnbuckle, going along with his anti-high-flier gimmick. Bo Dallas def. Curt HawkinsI appreciated how this wasn't a completely random match and instead stemmed from Dallas and Hawkins losing as a team on last week's episode. I guess that somehow turned Dallas babyface, though I assume this was a one-off or a test run for how he would do in the role. The crowd did take to him, surprisingly enough, and the match was decent. Hawkins does a great job of eliciting heat, so Dallas benefited from that as well in getting the crowd on his side. Overall ShowFrom an in-ring standpoint, this wasn't a blow-away edition of Main Event (when is it ever?), but there was a shocking amount of consistency from last week with Gulak and Dorado doing battle again after Dorado got hurt in their previous encounter, while the short-lived alliance between Dallas and Hawkins quickly imploded. Nothing is must-see on this episode, but it is a solid show on the whole.
