Stardust def. Jack Swagger

It's cool to see Stardust keeping the cape he debuted at WrestleMania as part of his entrance. As much as I despise the character, there's no denying Cody makes it work to the best of his ability and puts 110% effort into it. Speaking of whom, the "Cody" chants are still prevalent, so I wonder if the end game is still him ditching the Stardust persona and going back to being Cody Rhodes. In any event, this was a good match from two great athletes. It wasn't anything mind-blowing and Swagger hasn't meant anything in quite some time, but it was a nice win for Stardust coming off his loss on Raw this week.

Paige and Emma def. Summer Rae and Cameron

I was glad the commentators acknowledged the storied history and friendship of Paige and Emma, but if you didn't watch them on NXT, you'd be confused as to why they were tagging because they haven't crossed paths much on the main roster. Summer and Cameron have been appearing alongside each other for a few weeks now, so their tandem made a bit more sense. They were given more time to shine than usual and they made the most of it. Moreover, I loved seeing Emma being taken seriously for once. She's in the midst of a heel turn on NXT right now and it'd be great to see that on the main roster eventually.

The Lucha Dragons def. The Ascension

We've seen these tandems face off on countless occasions in the past, but their matches are always enjoyable so I'm not complaining. I feel bad for The Ascension for being the fall guys, but this was essentially a showcase for The Lucha Dragons and they shined. WWE Tag Team Champions Cesaro and Tyson Kidd sat in on commentary, which is rare for a Main Event match, so it was a refreshing change of pace. That seems to mean that they're set to enter a feud with The Lucha Dragons before long and I highly anticipate the exciting matches those two teams could have.

Overall Show

All three matches this week were very good, making this an above average edition on the whole. As noted, it was cool to see someone sit on commentary for once during one of the matches given this show hasn't been seen as a top priority since it was taken off the WWE Network earlier this year. The opener was well wrestled, the women had a good outing, and the main event was very fun, so this episode is well worth watching in my book.
