Breezango def. The Vaudevillians
Of course, we saw this same match on SmackDown Live last week where the winning tandem would advance to Survivor Series and Breezango won that, too. I really didn't have any desire to see a rematch between the two heel teams, but it served its purpose and was fine in the time it was allotted. The bout was kept short and sweet, so I can't complain. Breezango can actually be humorous at times, so I wish they were allowed to showcase their personality on programming.
Luke Harper def. Apollo Crews
Harper and Crews are both excellent athletes, so it wasn't much of a surprise that this match was a total treat. The in-ring action was extremely entertaining and they found instant chemistry with each other despite never facing off prior to this point. It's a shame a match this good was relegated to Main Event and wasn't held on SmackDown Live, but I hope WWE finds something meaningful for them to do in the near future. I know Harper has his alliance with Bray Wyatt, but he should also be involved in the midcard scene while Bray is busy with Randy Orton.
I thoroughly enjoyed this edition of Main Event. I wasn't thrilled when I read earlier in the week that Breezango and The Vaudevillians had another match, and while the crowd couldn't have cared less, it exceeded expectations in not being completely terrible. Meanwhile, Harper vs. Crews was very well-wrestled and a ton of fun, so definitely check it out when you get the chance.
