WWE Main Event Review - November 8, 2016

Jason Jordan def. Viktor

The Ascension are just as uninteresting in singles action as they are in tag team competition, but at least Jordan's involvment helped maintain my interest in this match to an extent. Viktor scored some offense, but it mostly a showcase for Jordan as it should have been. I truly hope American Alpha's once-hot feud with The Usos gets back on track at Survivor Series because it was one of the weekly highlights of SmackDown Live at one point before it fizzled out and almost abandoned.

Perhaps the best part of the match came before it even started when one of the Usos yelled to the timekeeper, "Ring the bell so I can whoop some ass!" Priceless. They're excellent as heels, so I wish they had more of a recurring role on SmackDown along with American Alpha. I actually enjoyed this match and thought it was solid, but the crowd didn't seem to be all that invested in the action. Guess The Hype Bros aren't too popular of an act overseas?

Overall Show

For whatever reason, although the matches on Main Event was just as irrelevant as those on WWE Superstars, I find the SmackDown undercard matches to be more entertaining. Jordan vs. Viktor was nothing special, but American Alpha in action is always a treat. Meanwhile, the subsequent tag team match was well-wrestled and a nice outing from both tandems.
