WWE Main Event Review - October 21, 2021

Drew Gulak def. Akira Tozawa

Watching this match actually made me sad knowing the battles they had over the Cruiserweight Championship a few years ago and how far they've fallen since then. On the bright side, because they're two of the biggest losers on 205 Live (as far as their win-loss records go), I actually didn't know who would win. It was the quality contest you'd expect from them and I was happy they had the chance to go at it one last time before Gulak departs for SmackDown starting this Friday.

Angel Garza and Humberto Carrillo def. John Morrison and Angel Garza

Price Puma and Johnny Mundo teaming up! That's pretty cool. I was going to suggest WWE putting them together as a team (it's not like they have anything else for them to do at the moment), but Ricochet is headed for SmackDown while Morrison is remaining on Raw. Although this was a one-time-only deal, they worked wonderfully as partners and had an entertaining encounter with Garza and Carrillo. This was fun while it lasted and the heels winning made sense seeing as how they're the regular tandem.

Overall Show

This was the last edition of Main Event featuring Raw vs. SmackDown talent until the new rosters go into effect on Friday. Thus, this will be the last you'll see of Gulak and Ricochet on the show for a while and we'll be getting some fresh faces instead. I don't care much for the Raw and SmackDown replays since I watch the shows in their entirety, but if you don't, then they might be for you. The two featured matches on this episode were worthwhile and the tag team match was especially enjoyable.
