Kofi Kingston def. Antonio Cesaro

This was by far one of the best matches I've seen on Main Event in a long while. Interestingly enough, I think these two were the ones who put on the last great match on this show over the United States Championship a few months back. Nonetheless, this bout featured plenty of entertaining action and their indescribable chemistry made for an exciting encounter. I hate to see Cesaro lose (again), but he was made to look strong in defeat. Kingston needed the win more, though, since he might contending for the Intercontinental Championship sooner rather than later. Sure, this match didn't have much meaning in the long scheme of things, but it was still fun for what it was worth.

The Prime Time Players def. 3MB

The Prime Time Players are gradually getting more and more each week, which is an assuring sign. Their match with 3MB was mostly forgettable, but both Titus O'Neil and Darren Young have nice outings, respectively. While the commentary from Tons of Funk wasn't spectacular, it helped hype the Tag Team Turmoil match on the Night of Champions pre-show.

PictureR-Truth and Big E Langston face off.
Big E Langston def. R-Truth

What in the hell happened to Langston? He was heavily pushed over the summer, and was suddenly dropped from television after SummerSlam. I've expressed my disdain for Truth in the past, so I won't bother getting into that here. Regardless, the bout was essentially a squash match utilized to get Langston over. I don't see what purpose it serves as this point, though, as I think the best bet would be to turn Langston babyface. He was extremely over during his time in NXT, and it's worth experimenting with since he's not doing of note at the moment.

Overall Show

Aside from the opening match, there wasn't much worth watching from this week's show. I would certainly suggest going out of your way to see Kingston vs. Cesaro, but the other two matches were nothing noteworthy. However, at least they attempted to build towards Night of Champions by hyping the Tag Team Turmoil match, which was better than nothing.
