![]() By Graham "GSM" Matthews Bo Dallas def. Fandango I liked how Dallas during his pre-match promo credited the attack from Brock Lesnar a few weeks ago on Raw as the reasoning why he's becoming more aggressive in the ring. It was weird to see him back to his aggressive ways after being quickly disposed of by Neville on this week's Superstars, but I guess fans who watch both programs (which isn't many, granted) aren't supposed to make that connection. Nevertheless, the match was fine for what it was, but it looks like Fandango is merely going through the motions at this point. Even as a babyface, the fans couldn't care less about him and a repackaging is the only thing that could resurrect his floundering career. The Prime Time Players def. Los Matadores I was holding out hope that the Matadores being put through a table by The Dudley Boyz this past week on Raw would lead to them being taken off TV for the next few weeks at the very least, but sadly that was not the case. However, El Torito wasn't with them at ringside, so perhaps that's a sign he's being written out of the act going forward. It was a pretty stand albeit forgettable tag team matchup, but if nothing else, it gave the Players one last boost of momentum going into their WWE Tag Team Championship rematch with The New Day on Raw. Kevin Owens def. Dolph Ziggler
While I enjoyed their encounter on Raw many months ago slightly more, this was still a very good match from Owens and Ziggler. I appreciated the backstage segment they had to set the stage for the match and attempt to make it mean something. It was a bit slow early on, but they picked up the pace down the stretch to deliver an entertaining, well-wrestled matchup. Owens was the right guy to go over assuming he'll be contending for the Intercontinental Championship at Night of Champions. Overall Show Main Event features throwaway matches more often than not, but this was a better episode than usual. Dallas vs. Fandango, despite not having any storyline significance, demonstrated character progression for Dallas and the tag team match gave the No. 1 contenders to the WWE Tag Team Championship an easy win. Cap that off with an above-average main event between Owens and Ziggler and you have yourself a solid show.
