WWE Main Event Review - September 8, 2022

Shelton Benjamin def. Reggie

We haven't seen a whole lot of Reggie as of late on WWE programming, including on Main Event. It's not as if he was being featured consistently on Raw before Vince McMahon retired, but I can't imagine he's someone Triple H will been too keen on doing much with. That said, he can be fun to watch in the ring and that was evident in this outing with Benjamin, who brought the best out of him. They worked well together and had a real enjoyable affair here with a cool finish.

T-Bar def. Cedric Alexander

I've spoken quite a bit before about how underutilized both guys are, so it's well understood by this point. Thus, it was no surprise how good of a match they had in the brief time they were allotted. The action was entertaining and T-Bar winning was a nice change of pace. I liked the post-match angle with T-Bar continuing to attack Alexander and Mustafa Ali making the save, seemingly setting up a rematch between those two from a few weeks ago. We never see stuff like that on Main Event, so I thought that was well done.

Overall Show

We got a super solid show this week with two matches that I was thoroughly entertained by and the crowed seemed to be as well. As noted, what we got after T-Bar vs. Alexander was a welcome change since we rarely get any actual feuds on Main Event, so I'm looking forward to T-Bar vs. Ali II. Outside of Braun Strowman's return, Raw was a pretty skippable show on Monday compared to other editions in the Triple H era, so feel free to skip over most of those.
