Rusev and Lana def. Elias and Bayley in a First Round Match
I was hoping for a lengthier singing performance from Elias and Bayley, but I guess that wasn't possible due to this show being so short. That said, what we got from them was fun, and I'd love if they interacted on a more consistent basis on WWE TV in the future. As a match, this was perfectly fine. The two teams didn't have the same chemistry that past tandems have had in the tournament, but they did well with the time they were allotted. More importantly, Lana didn't embarrass herself, though Michael Cole noted that her beating Bayley marked her first victory in WWE. Bayley simply can't catch a break, it seems.
As I've said before, if you aren't tuning into Mixed Match Challenge (and I wouldn't blame you because there's already a ton of other WWE content to check out from the week), you aren't missing much. However, at only 20 minutes in length, it isn't much of a chore to watch and the time tends to fly by. This wasn't the best bout I've seen on the program so far, but I appreciate that they have more freedom than they normally would on Raw or SmackDown Live and their entertaining antics are what make the matches a treat.
