WWE Money In The Bank 2013: Predicting the Card

It's that time of year again, Money In The Bank! In what is arguably the most anticipated non-"Big 4" PPV event that WWE puts on, Superstars will compete in ladder matches to determine two possible future World Champions. While everyone has their predictions and hopes for who will win the coveted briefcase, WWE usually likes to throw us a swerve, making in that much harder to predict who'll win. While it may not be time to predict who will win, I'm going to at least try and predict who will be in participating at Money In The Bank, whether it's ladder matches or singles matches. Of course, I won't be predicting the WWE Championship match because, you know, it's already been announced.

World Heavyweight Championship Money In The Bank Ladder Match
Per usual, WWE will hold two different Money In The Bank matches, one for each World Championship. While both matches give a guaranteed World title shot, it's tradition that the World Heavyweight Championship ladder match will create a new star, while the WWE Championship one will give the briefcase to an established Superstar. Seeing as the World Heavyweight Ladder match will feature less-star power than the WWE Championship one, it was a little harder to predict who would be in it.

  • Antonio Cesaro
  • Big E Langston
  • Christian
  • Cody Rhodes
  • Damien Sandow
  • Dean Ambrose
  • Sheamus
  • Wade Barrett

Cesaro is an obvious choice, as he has recently been paired with Zeb Colter. Big E Langston will be in the match under the premise of winning Ziggler's World Title back. Christian will be in the match because, well, when isn't he in the match? Rhodes and Sandow will both be in the match, which will lead to their break up. Dean Ambrose will forgo defending his United States Championship to represent the Shield in the ladder match. Sheamus will be the big star of the match and will be built up as the front runner. Wade Barrett will trade in his IC title rematch clause for a spot in the match.

WWE Championship Money In The Bank Ladder Match
As I previously stated, the WWE Championship Money In The Bank Ladder match is usually for the more established stars who need a way back into the main event scene. So, this one was a little easier to predict.

  • Big Show
  • Chris Jericho
  • CM Punk
  • Daniel Bryan
  • Kane
  • Randy Orton
  • Rob Van Damn
  • Ryback

Big Show will return from his brief hiatus as a face to try and win the briefcase again. Chris Jericho will also throw his hat in for a shot at the briefcase. CM Punk will post-pone facing Brock Lesnar until SummerSlam, and will attempt to win the briefcase so his match with Lesnar can be for the WWE Championship. Bryan, Kane, and Orton will continue their feud in the Money In The Bank match. Rob Van Dam will return to compete in the match. Ryback will get one more shot at the title by competing in the ladder match.

AJ Lee (c) vs. Kaitlyn - Divas Championship Match
For the first time in a long time, the WWE is giving us an interesting, well planned Divas feud. While their match at Payback will most likely have been the climax of this tale, Kaitlyn still has a rematch clause, and she'll be cashing it in at Money In The Bank.

The Shield (c) vs. The Usos - Tag Team Championship Match
Yup, the Usos are a pretty random choice. But this isn't a case of I didn't know who to pick so I randomly chose a babyface team, it's been rumoured now for a while that WWE is building up the Usos so they can look like a threat to the Shield's Tag Team Championships, and the Usos win streak and new face paint seems to only be confirming this.

Curtis Axel (c) vs. The Miz - Intercontinental Championship Match
Seeing as Barrett will be cashing in his rematch clause for a spot in the Money In The Bank match, the man who has been in the midcard title scene for the past year will once again go for the title against new IC Champion Curtis Axel at Money In The Bank. Don't worry, he won't win.

Alberto Del Rio (c) vs. Dolph Ziggler - World Heavyweight Championship Ladder Match
The entire wrestling fan base let out a big expletive when Ziggler lost his World Championship to Alberto Del Rio in his first title defense. While it may suck to have had Ziggler lose his title so quickly, the double turn that occurred in the match can only mean that there are big things planned for new babyface Ziggler. Since they never got to have that Triple Threat Ladder match at Extreme Rules, Ziggler will most likely face Del Rio in a ladder match to keep with the theme of the event. #Face.

Very Good Article! I think that Punk will win the MITB then go on to face Cena and Lesnar and Summerslam..(But I'm sensing Vince wants to slap the WHC title on him!)

This year's PPV, aside from the ladder matches, seems very predictable. Good read, and I like the people you chose for MITB too
