Quincy Elliott def. Bryson Montana

Elliott has been a regular on 205 Live/Level Up over the last number of months and he's even appeared on NXT TV a time or two. He's a work in progress but is improving, which is a plus. Meanwhile, Montana looks like he could be a star and he had a solid enough showing, so this was a decent five-minute outing. Elliott winning was fine since he's been around for a while and needed a win eventually. Montana will probably need to pay his dues first before he starts racking up victories.

Kiana James def. Brooklyn Barlow

James just confronted Indi Hartwell on Tuesday's NXT and is already confirmed to be faced her next week, so it was obvious who was winning here. This was the most basic of bouts with neither woman showing much. Barlow has been passable any time I've seen her in action, but James' stupid gimmick isn't going to do her any favors I feel. This was a subpar match and I'm not sure they needed as much time as they got.

Ikemen Jiro def. Ru Feng

Jiro and Feng previously went one-on-one and Jiro won that encounter as well. Feng has entirely been utilized as an enhancement talent in NXT thus far, so there wasn't much doubt surrounding the outcome here. Jiro carried a majority of this match, but Feng held his own and they filled the time as well as they could. Working with the up-and-comers feels like Jiro's ceiling in NXT since he's doing nothing else of note, especially with Kushida gone.

Overall Show

Level Up is what it is at this point. The show exists to give the newcomers a platform to hone their craft and gain experience, but as a viewer, there's nothing remotely entertaining about this show. There really is no reason for it to be televised (a.k.a. on Peacock). Sure, we could be seeing the next big stars of NXT in action before they make it to the main show, but the matches are very forgettable. This was a serviceable albeit uninspiring show.
