WWE NXT Level Up Review - November 11, 2022

Ivy Nile and Tatum Paxley def. Jakara Jackson and Lash Legend

Paxley is still wearing that stupid facemask. On the bright side, she and Nile continue to work well together, and I think Legend and Jackson have potential as a team as well. This was better than I thought it would be with the heels on offense for a majority of it and Nile and Paxley selling well for them. I continue to love how Nile locks in her submission finisher out of nowhere and wins soon after. This was a nice sprint to open the episode.

Javier Bernal def. Ikemen Jiro

As I've mentioned before, Bernal has really come into his own as a heel and is clearly having much more fun in the role. He's done well for himself on Level Up but has only been utilized as an enhancement talent so far on NXT TV. Jiro is basically the gatekeeper of Level Up, so Bernal beating him is an encouraging sign for his future. This was a fun little match and I wouldn't be opposed to a rematch at some point.

Odyssey Jones, Edris Enofe and Malik Blade def. Xyon Quinn, Lucien Price and Bronco Nima

Quinn just had a match on Main Event this past week, but I'd be shocked if he gets called up to the main roster any time soon. Also expect to see Jones pop up on Main Event soon because the guy is good and has a lot of potential. Meanwhile, Enofe and Blade are coming off an impressive performance against Pretty Deadly for the NXT Tag Team Championship. Price and Nima held their own in there, but this was a pretty basic bout up until the closing stretch.

Overall Show

From an in-ring standpoint, this show was a slight step up from what we usually get on Level Up. The first two matches had energy and were largely well worked. The main event was decent, but there wasn't anything interesting about it until the babyfaces battled back. You'll never get anything groundbreaking out of Level Up, but this installment offered a good glimpse into the future of NXT, if nothing else.
