By CJ Blaze This week’s episode kicked off with a pre-taped promo from Dusty Rhodes talking about NXT and tonight’s theme: “Clash of Champions”! -Antonio Cesaro came out and cut a promo United States Title Match: Cesaro (c) vs. Adrian Neville This was an outstanding match! This should’ve been the main event. The crowd was certainly into it, and the performers did great. Neville showed off his high-flying style, and Cesaro used his technical skills to retain his United States Championship. (As mentioned on a ticker at the bottom of the screen during the show, this match was taped several weeks ago when Cesaro was still the champion.) Winner: and still the U.S. Champion, Antonio Cesaro- by pinfall Diva’s Championship: Kaitlyn (c) vs. AJ Lee This match was actually kind of disappointing to me, to be honest. The flow seemed inconsistent. They each had moments where something didn’t connect like it was supposed to. But, it was interesting to see AJ use some of Ziggler’s moves. Winner: and still the Diva’s Champion, Kaitlyn- by pinfall -We get a video package announcing that Chris Jericho will be in action next week.
NXT Championship: Big E Langston (c) vs. Brad Maddox This was nothing but a squash match. Big E dominated this match, and it was nice to see him after a two-week absence. Winner: and still the NXT Champion, Big E Langston- by pinfall -After the match, Big E did his usual five-count on Maddox. -NXT shows us a look at Bo Dallas and Wade Barrett’s history from January. Intercontinental Championship: Wade Barrett (c) vs. Bo Dallas Each man got a lot of action in, but I felt that Barrett seemed to dominate for the most part. I don’t have a whole lot of complaints for this match, but I wish that Bo Dallas would’ve had more offense or high-flying spots. Winner: and still the IC Champion, Wade Barrett- by pinfall Overall Reaction: I give this week’s episode an A. I was highly anticipating this week’s episode with the titles on the line. It’s unfortunate that Neville’s tag team partner, Oliver Grey, was injured shortly after their title win. It makes the title reign nothing, and now Neville is stuck in random matches like this week’s episode. Don’t get me wrong, Cesaro vs. Neville was match of the week, but there wasn’t any reason why Neville was fighting Cesaro for the title! It’s a similar situation to a lot of the current and recent storylines on the main roster. Regardless, we seen some good action, and hopefully next week can keep our interest. Next Week’s Main Event: Chris Jericho vs. Bray Wyatt
