WWE NXT Results - May 29, 2013

The show kicks off with.. (in Teddy Long’s voice).. a tag team match!


The Wyatt Family vs. Travis Tyler and Sawyer Fulton

The Wyatt Family squashed the new jobber team. Like a bug. The Wyatt’s domination on NXT has been impressive, and hopefully they don’t squash no-namers week after week.

-Stephanie McMahon makes a big announcement in a pre-taped video. She announces that next week will be the start of a tournament to crown the first ever NXT Women’s Champion.

Emma vs. Audrey Marie

Emma continues to impress me. She is as over with the fans as Fandango is. Unfortunately, this was Audrey’s last televised match. Emma showed that she has her ways with submissions, whether it’s in the ropes, or in the middle of the ring. The upcoming tournament should be interesting.

Winner: Emma - by submission


-Renee Young attempted to interview Garrett Dylan and Scott Dawson, but their “manager” Sylvester Lefort stopped it.


Jake Carter and Brandon Traven vs. Scott Dawson and Garrett Dylan

I hadn’t seen much out of any of these guys, but it was a decent match. I’m a fan of Jake Carter, and I wish he would’ve won. This was also Traven’s last televised match, as he recently got released.

Winners: Dawson and Dylan - by pinfall


Derrick Bateman vs. Big E Langston

Bateman made a return to T.V. with a new haircut. The match was fairly short. Bateman pretty much dominated, until Big E got away and hit the Big Ending for a non-title victory.

18-Man #1 Contenders Battle Royal

This was a good way to crown the new number one contender. I wonder why people like Leo Kruger and Xavier Woods were not featured, but yet Yoshi Tatsu and Sakamoto were in it. There was a lot of focus on Mason Ryan, Bray Wyatt, and Bo Dallas. It came down to Adrian Neville and Bo. The former tag team partners put on quite the show in the closing moments, and only one man walked away victorious...

Winner: and the #1 contender to the NXT Title, Bo Dallas.


Overall Reaction: This week was full of news, and tag team action. The next few weeks will be even more action-packed, and I can’t wait.


Next Week’s Main Event: Corey Graves and Kassius Ohno vs. The Wyatt Family. Plus, the start of the Women’s Title tournament!
