NXT Women's Champion Charlotte def. Sasha Banks
From a storyline standpoint, it didn't make any sense for Banks to receive another shot at the title since she did nothing to deserve it and the authority figure is face. That said, I'll never complain about the ladies closing the show with a very good match. Granted, it was the show's only match, but it was refreshing to see the women of NXT showcased for once and they definitely made the most of the opportunity. I enjoyed their Takeover match from a few weeks ago slightly more, but this was still above and beyond what we see from the main roster Divas. Ric Flair didn't play a factor into the finish despite being at ringside, but it's always nice to see him, nevertheless.
Similar to last year, they picked a good weak to look back on the biggest highlights from this year for NXT given that it's Christmas. Unlike with Superstars, I actually watched the recaps on this show because they were all excellent and would suggest you do the same. In fact, I wish they would have shown more footage of the other specials and title changes we've seen this year. The sole match that was featured was solid, rounding out an enjoyable final episode of NXT of 2014.
