Mark Andrews and Wild Boar def. Symbiosis (Primate and T-Bone)Andrews and Boar have known each other for a long time, so I probably should've expected that they'd work well together as partners. I liked that they wasted no time in taking the fight to Symbiosis. This was a nicely-paced opener and a good win for the babyfaces. They chased Eddie Dennis around afterward, so he clearly this feud won't be over until he gets his comeuppance. On a side note, I was wondering where Flash Morgan Webster is until discovering that he's currently injured. Xia Brookside def. Angel HayzeAfter suffering a string of losses prior to turning heel, Brookside needs to start racking up wins to build her credibility, so this was a nice start. It was a bit more competitive than I would've liked and it was a fairly basic bout, but both women held their own and the result was the right one. Post-match, Amale made the save for Hayze, furthering her feud with Brookside in the process. Von Wagner def. Saxon HuxleyThe only thing worse than getting Von Wagner on NXT is getting him on NXT UK in addition to that. NXT has gotten A-Kid and Nathan Frazer as of late, and NXT UK is getting Von Wagner and Lash Legend for a brief bit in return. Something tells me that isn't exactly a fair trade. At any rate, I couldn't care less about either of these guys, so I had zero expectations for this. It wasn't terrible but maybe mediocre at best. Von Wagner sticks out like a sore thumb in NXT UK and I'm not looking forward to this run of his, however long it lasts. Jordan Devlin Attacked NXT United Kingdom Champion Ilja Dragunov After the Contract Was Signed for Their Title Clash in Two WeeksFor starters, it was great to see Johnny Saint make his first in-person appearance on the show in over two years. I was starting to worry he was being phased out and wouldn't be back. Secondly, it's a shame they changed Dragunov's entrance music because I thought his original song fit him perfectly. The verbal exchange he and Devlin had was solid and effectively set the stage for their championship clash in two weeks. They also added a Loser Leaves NXT UK stipulation, which makes matters much more interesting. Overall ShowNXT UK has been treading water for a while now, but I didn't think the quality would decrease with the influx of NXT 2.0 stars. Damon Kemp being in action soon is cool, but Von Wagner and Lash Legend are not very good and have no business being on this brand. Put them on NXT Level Up where they can actually improve. As for this episode, the opener was enjoyable and the final segment was well done, but nothing else in the middle piqued my interest any. This was a below-average episode and I have don't have a ton of faith for the immediate future of the brand.
