Wolfgang def. Flash Morgan WebsterThis stemmed from Wolfgang and Webster getting into a physical altercation in the back on last week's show. Wolfgang has been winning more singles matches lately, so I should have suspected that he'd emerge victorious here. Both of these guys are very good and thus this was an enjoyable opener. I'm sure they were capable of more, but Webster sold well for Wolfgang's offense and looked credible in defeat. Amale def. Nina SamuelsPitting two heels against each other was an odd choice, but I'm liking this push Amale has been getting lately. She went after Xia Brookside, took Meiko Satomura to the limit in an NXT UK Women's Championship match, and now picking up a win here. Granted, Samuels is basically "bottom of the barrel" when it comes to this division, but she's still a regular on the roster. They had a decent match, though nothing they did stood out as special. Even with her updated gimmick, Samuels still bores me to tears. Noam Dar def. Mark Andrews in an NXT UK Heritage Cup No. 1 Contender's Tournament Quarterfinal MatchI feel like these Heritage Cup matches would be better if we didn't see them so often on the show. We get one almost every other week and the formula has become tired as a result. That said, this was one of the better ones I've seen so far, likely because both of these guys are great. It also helped that it was a tournament match, so the outcome mattered. Andrews is a tag team guy at the moment, so Dar winning another Heritage Cup match was logical. Overall ShowThe show was a bit shorter this week than it usually is, so that's why it felt like we got less content despite none of the three matches going overly long. Per usual, there were plenty of backstage segments and hype packages, including for Ilja Dragunov vs. WALTER at NXT TakeOver 36 and a recap of Dragunov vs. Pete Dunne from Wednesday's NXT. This was a solid albeit unspectacular edition of NXT UK, though next week's episode featuring two title matches is shaping up to be must-see.
