NXT UK Women's Champion Meiko Satomura def. Xia BrooksideI honestly don't remember this match being made official last week. Although Brookside has lost a lot lately, the story was that her father Robbie Brookside helped her get this title opportunity. The match was good for what it was, but the outcome was never in doubt, and it was clear that Brookside wasn't on Satomura's level. Post-match, Blair Davenport confronted Emilia McKenzie backstage and they'll be facing off next week, so Davenport is clearly getting closer to challenging Satomura for the title. Saxon Huxley def. Kenny WilliamsAs I've mentioned time and time again, Huxley does absolutely nothing for me. He isn't terrible in the ring by any stretch, but he bores me as a character and I just don't see the upside with him. Williams, on the other hand, can be a solid midcard heel, but losses like this one won't do him any favors. Granted, it was a distraction finish with Subculture's entrance music playing in the background, but that may have made Williams look even worse. I wasn't a fan of any of this, personally. NXT United Kingdom Champion Ilja Dragunov def. Rampage Brown by Referee StoppageDragunov and Brown previously collided in that Triple Threat with Joe Coffey earlier in the year, so we already knew they work well together. This got off to a nice, hard-hitting start, but just as they were starting to take it to the next gear, the bout abruptly ended, apparently due to Dragunov legitimately kicking Brown in the head by accident and throwing him for a loop. Needless to say, it was a disappointing finish, but Brown's health comes first and I hope he's okay. I'm sure NXT UK will get back to this at some point and give us the match we know they're capable of. It could be a while, but my guess is that it will be sooner rather than later. Overall ShowWe got two title matches on this episode, so in theory, it should have been a special show. Unfortunately, it ended being just decent because the main event was cut short and nowhere near what it could have been or what I was hoping for. That's not their fault, of course, but the show did suffer as a result. Satomura vs. Brookside wasn't on the level of other NXT UK Women's Championship matches we've gotten this year, but I understood what they were going for with it. Suxley vs. Williams, while well wrestled, was a waste of time I thought. On the bright side, the video package for next week's NXT UK Tag Team Championship rematch between Pretty Deadly and Moustache Mountain was quite great and I'm looking forward to that.
