WWE NXT UK Review - February 10, 2022

Amale def. Nina Samuels

I don't find Samuels entertaining in any form or fashion and she's painfully mediocre in the ring, but she does play her role well as a stepping stone for other women on the roster. There wasn't anything remarkable about the match whatsoever, and while I wasn't too high on the match being as competitive as it was, at least Amale won as she should have. I'm sure we'll be seeing her in a rematch against Jinny sooner or later.

Gallus Hosted Supernova Sessions with Jordan Devlin Before NXT UK Heritage Cup Champion Noam Dar and Sha Samuels Interrupted

It's been a while since we've last gotten an edition of Supernova Sessions, and maybe that's for the better. Dar usually does well in the host role, but most of these segments are very hit or miss and I felt this fell in the latter category. They tried to be hard to be funny and no one involved is currently feuding with each other. Devlin already feuded with Gallus, but maybe one of the Gallus guys will be gunning for Dar's NXT UK Heritage Cup Championship soon? Either way, this was pretty lame.

A-Kid def. Saxon Huxley

A-Kid tried his best to instill politeness in Huxley last week, though I missed the part where they agreed to face each other. Similar to Samuels, Huxley does absolutely nothing for me, but I honestly found this to be one of his best bouts to date. Then again, that should hardly come as a surprise given who his opponent was. They worked a nice pace and had quality chemistry together. They shook hands afterward, so it looks like we haven't seen the end of their alliance.

Nathan Frazer def. Teoman

This was set up last week when Die Familie attacked Frazer in the parking lot. It didn't feel like a main event match, but it was enjoyable enough that I didn't mind it going on last. Teoman's in-ring work hasn't stood out in a major way to me so far, but I'm a fan of Frazer and feel he can work well with just about anyone. This was a necessary win for Frazer as his feud with the faction continues and he'll likely face off with Charlie Dempsey.

Overall Show

I have no idea what happened to the live crowds or when they'll be back. I know NXT UK was without fans for almost a year at the height of the pandemic, but the show is going to suffer without them now that we know what it's like to have them back. This wasn't a particularly great edition of NXT UK, anyway. There wasn't anything terribly wrong with it, but it was mostly average stuff. With most of the brand's biggest matches out of the way, I fear the program will be in a holding pattern for the time being.
