Amale def. Xia BrooksideBoth women have been in the midst of character changes in recent months and I've been impressed by them in their new roles. The match itself wasn't anything worth writing home about, but it was decent enough and they had solid showings. Brookside needs wins, but it was more important for Amale to pick up the victory to establish her credibility, especially if she's headed for a rematch with Jinny at some point. Rohan Raja def. Danny JonesRaja has received the least amount of focus of everyone in Die Familie, so it was necessary to give him a win of his own so viewers can take him a bit more seriously. It was a fairly standard squash with Raja showcasing his skills before going over. It was a pretty boring affair, but obviously, the right guy won. Maybe they wanted to build up Raja so it will mean more if Nathan Frazer inevitably beats him. Isla Dawn Attacked NXT UK Women’s Champion Meiko SatomuraThis was meant to be a celebration of Satomura following her latest successful title defense against Blair Davenport (who I'm convinced would have taken the title had she not gotten injured) before she was interrupted and attacked by Dawn. Dawn's win-loss record has been so inconsistent that it's impossible to care about her challenging for the championship, not to mention she's completely uninteresting, anyway. This was a fine angle, but I can't say I'm thrilled about that upcoming match in the slightest. NXT UK Tag Team Champions Moustache Mountain def. Ashton Smith and Oliver CarterProps to NXT UK for trying to make Carter and Smith look like threats to the tag titles in this match. Granted, I never actually bought into the possibility that they would win, but I appreciated the attempt. This is the most important Carter and Smith have ever felt in NXT UK and I liked that they took Moustache Mountain to the limit before losing. This was very well wrestled and Trent Seven knocking Smith's foot off the bottom rope was intriguing. Could Moustache Mountain if not just Seven be headed for a heel turn soon? Overall ShowNXT UK continues to suffer without a crowd, but this was a slightly better show than what we've been getting in recent weeks. The main event was entertaining and I'm glad they got as much time as they did, but the rest of the show was mostly mediocre. Raja's squash was whatever and I'm not a fan of Satomura's next feud being with Dawn, but Amale vs. Brookside was a serviceable opener. There isn't a lot to get excited about on the brand at the moment and that's unfortunate.
