Oliver Carter def. TeomanDie Familie began targeting Carter after his partner Ashton Smith got injured. Before Carter and Smith joined forces, Carter was NXT UK's resident jobbers, so I assumed he'd resume that role with Smith gone for the foreseeable future. That's why it was a pleasant surprise when Carter won here, especially considering how protected Teoman has been in the past. This was a quality contest to kick off the show, setting up Carter to face one of the other two members of Die Familie soon. Amale def. Stevie TurnerAmale lost a bunch of matches to Xia Brookie and Eliza Alexander and oddly never avenged any of those losses, so she desperately needed a win to get back on track. While I'm not thrilled it came at the expense of Turner, it makes sense if Amale is the one they're focusing on right now, especially as she prepares to face off with Blair Davenport (who sat in on commentary for this) soon. There wasn't anything out of the ordinary about this bout, but it was decent. Mark Coffey def. Noam Dar to Win the NXT UK Heritage Cup ChampionshipMark Coffey is, in my opinion, the least interesting member of Gallus, so of course, he was the one who ended up beating Dar for the title. I guess it's a nice consolation prize for being on the brand for so long, but unless this leads to the Coffey brothers battling each other, then there are a few other people I would have rather seen in this spot. Nonetheless, this was a solid main event. It got better down the stretch once they picked up the pace and the crowd was receptive to the title change because they probably didn't see it coming, either. Overall ShowThe main event took up a good chunk of the second half of the show, which is why there were less matches than usual. The NXT UK Heritage Cup Championship changing hands made this a somewhat eventful edition of NXT UK and all three matches were largely well wrestled, making it a slightly above-average episode on the whole. There still isn't a ton to get excited about right now, especially with the brand revolving around a lot of the same people, but for one week, the show wasn't a total drag.
