Ilja Dragunov def. Noam DarDar is basically the Miz of NXT UK at this point: he's a talk show host more than he's a wrestler but can still bring it in the ring whenever necessary. Dar is terrific and that was evident here in what was an entertaining opener. They worked well together and Dar gave Dragunov quite the fight before falling short. Dragunov's road to redemption has been one of the best parts of NXT UK over the last eight months, leaving me wondering if NXT UK is waiting until fans return to run back him against WALTER again. NXT UK Tag Team Champions Pretty Deadly def. Jack Starz and Nathan FrazerFrazer was Starz' mystery partner. Starz is the lovable loser of NXT UK and has a little luck lately, but he wasn't able to win gold here, even with Frazer as his partner. I don't know why Frazer of all people stepped up, but he did enhance the action with his involvement. Considering Frazer and Starz are a total makeshift team, there was no reason for them to win the titles here. It was a fun little match but nothing too special. Joseph Conners def. Flash Morgan WebsterThis stemmed from Jinny's bad blood with Dani Luna from back in April. I like Webster, but Conners bores me to tears. Not even Webster could get me to care about this match. There wasn't anything technically wrong with it, but it just seemed to sort of exist. I assume an intergender tag team match is the endgame unless Conners finds a partner to take on Webster and Mark Andrews. Joe Coffey def. Rampage BrownYou knew going in that this was going to be a hard-hitting affair and, much like their original encounter earlier this year, they did not disappoint. They beat the crap out of each other and kept things interesting throughout. I figured they did the rematch to give Coffey a win and that was exactly what happened. They hinted at a rubber match afterward before Dragunov came out to stare both men down. Maybe we're headed for a number one contender's Triple Threat with the winner facing WALTER sometime soon? Overall ShowNo women's match for the second straight week? Yikes. I know we're getting Kay Lee Ray vs. Meiko Satomura for the NXT UK Women's Championship next week and there was one final video package promoting it on this show, but the division is deep enough where we could have gotten at least one women's match during the hour. It was a perfectly solid show with the opening and closing matches being the best of the night with some seeds being planted for future matchups. We also found out that WALTER is returning next week after being absent for the last two months.
