Charlie Dempsey def. A-KidA vignette just aired for A-Kid on Tuesday's edition of NXT promoting his arrival on next week's show, so that all but confirmed that this would be his swan song from NXT UK. Maybe it's a temporary move, but either way, I'm excited to see what he can do in NXT. I loved that he put over Dempsey on his way out because Dempsey has a ton of potential. This was a terrific match as they had excellent chemistry together. Rohan Raja's interference protected A-Kid in defeat while Dempsey picks up a big win. Symbiosis (Primate and Tyson T-Bone) def. Danny Jones and Josh MorrellI used to be a big fan of The Hunt, and although I originally thought Eddie Dennis could add a lot to the act as their new manager, the group has yet to do much of anything. This was a fairly standard squash for Primate and T-Bone albeit nothing out of the ordinary. The most interesting thing about this was the post-match return of Wild Boar. I legitimately thought he was gone from the company because he's been gone for so long, so it was nice to see him back. NXT UK Heritage Cup Champion Noam Dar def. Joe CoffeyThe commentators mentioned that this marked Joe Coffey's first Heritage Cup match, which is surprising considering how long the championship has been around for by this point. I didn't have high hopes for this given how a majority of Coffey's matches tend to be boring and the Heritage Cup-style matches aren't always the most exciting, but this ended up being a pretty solid main event with a nice clash of styles. Dar excels in his current role, so I'm happy he retained here. Overall ShowA majority of the past few editions of NXT UK have been tame and not very interesting, but I thought this was a thumbs-up show. The lack of women's matches was surprising and disappointing (though I know we have Meiko Satomura vs. Isla Dawn for the NXT UK Women's Championship coming up), but the opening and closing matches made this episode worthwhile and the return of Wild Boar was somewhat notable as well. By the way, when are we getting fans back? And we ever going to get another NXT UK TakeOver special? Those two things are the biggest knocks against the product right now, but I am looking forward to Roderick Strong coming in next week to face Wolfgang.
