Die Familie (Charlie Dempsey and Rohan Raja) def. A-Kid and Saxon HuxleyI thought we had seen the last of A-Kid in NXT UK for the foreseeable future following his loss to Dempsey a few weeks ago (now that we've seen him on NXT TV as of late), but apparently not. I'm still not sure if he's being written off NXT UK permanently or if he'll be pulling double duty between the two brands. Either way, this was a pretty good opener, largely thanks to Dempsey and A-Kid. Huxley does nothing for me, but he held his own. Wild Boar def. T-BoneThis marked Wild Boar's first televised match in quite a while. I don't know how many people actually care about him feuding with his former teammates, but I'm curious to see what he can do in the babyface role. He and T-Bone had a perfectly solid match and Wild Boar winning was the right call in order to give him some credibility. I'd rather see The Hunt reunite to be honest because I think that'd be more interesting than this rivalry. Jordan Devlin def. Danny JonesI continue to be stunned that Devlin is still spinning his wheels in NXT UK. You'd think he would've made the move to NXT by now. Instead, he's doing a whole lot of nothing on this show. He recently failed to beat Noam Dar for the NXT UK Heritage Cup Championship and Ilja Dragunov for the NXT United Kingdom Championship before that, so I have no clue what's next for him. This was a decent showcase for him, nonetheless. NXT UK Women's Champion Meiko Satomura def. Isla DawnI've made it quite clear in past reviews, but Dawn bores me to tears and thus this feud hasn't piqued my interest at all. I was actually surprised that the match only went around 10 minutes, but I'm not complaining. It was one of the better Dawn matches I've seen and I appreciated that they worked with a sense of urgency. Unfortunately, this rivalry will continue since Dawn stole the title belt afterward. Overall ShowThis edition of NXT UK had more energy than most and having fans back in the building obviously helps. I wasn't excited for the NXT UK Women's Championship main event coming into this show, but it managed to exceed my expectations. The rest of the show was solid stuff, including the middle despite there not being anything important. There isn't a lot on the horizon for NXT UK that I'm eagerly anticipating except for Ilja Dragunov vs. Roderick Strong in two weeks for the NXT United Kingdom title. That should be a banger.
