Xia Brookside def. AmaleBrookside has been racking up losses for months, so it was about time something finally happened with her heel character. Not only did she pick up a rare win, she also debuted her new ally Eliza Alexander, who interfered at ringside to aid her to victory. The match was decent but nothing special, which is logical if there will be more matches between them. I like how this gives Amale direction as well because she's done well in the babyface role so far. NXT UK Tag Team Champion Trent Seven def. Ashton SmithOliver Carter previously beat Tyler Bate, so if Smith defeated Seven here, he and Carter would have earned another opportunity at the NXT UK Tag Team Championship. I appreciated how they swerved us with the finish by having Seven win albeit in nefarious fashion. Bate didn't seem to approve of his actions, so that will be worth keeping an eye on. The match itself was enjoyable and probably the best bout Smith has had in NXT UK on his own, which I realize isn't saying much seeing as how he hasn't had a ton of singles matches on the brand. Tate Mayfairs def. Kenny Williams by Count-OutI believe this marked the NXT UK debut of Mayfairs. I was wondering why Williams was taking so much time beating him up, but then it became clear at the end that it was because Sam Gradwell was going to cost him the win by count-out by emerging from under the ring. This worked well and furthered the feud between Williams and Gradwell. I don't know if Mayfairs will be sticking around or if this win for him will be forgotten about it. NXT UK Heritage Cup Champion Noam Dar def. Mark CoffeyYou know NXT UK is suffering from a roster depth issue when the Heritage Cup Championship is consistently featured in the main event along with almost every member of Gallus. Everyone in Gallus is a good worker, but they're beyond boring at this point and most of their matches are the same. This ended up being a solid outing, though I could have done without the interference from Sha Samuels and Joe Coffey down the stretch. Dar retaining the title was the right call. Overall ShowAs noted in the previous paragraph, Gallus being featured so frequently has really hurt my enjoyment of the brand, especially with WALTER (now Gunther) moving on and NXT UK not doing a great job of replenishing the pot with fresh faces. Even with fans being back in the crowd, most of the brand just sort of exists at the moment. With all of that said, this was actually one of the better shows with some storyline development and an excellent sit-down segment backstage with Ilja Dragunov and Roderick Strong to hype up their championship clash for next week.
