Jordan Devlin def. Mark AndrewsSince these two wrestle similar styles, I knew this would be fun and I'm glad it was positioned as the opener. They got a decent amount of time and worked as well together as I expected them to. Devlin needs more wins to get back to where he was earlier this year before losing the NXT Cruiserweight Championship, so this was a good start. I'm curious if Subculture losing so frequently will lead to anything or if they're just helping elevate others at the moment. Isla Dawn def. Aleah JamesJames was starting to build some real momentum with back-to-back wins, so I thought having her lose to Dawn here was the wrong call when the vampire character for Dawn has a short shelf life. Hell, it's already run its course. There's nothing exciting or interesting about her in-ring work, either. Dawn dominated most of the match, so it's not like James had a standout showing prior to losing. This seemed to just sort of exist. Jinny def. Angel HayzeHayze (who beat Dawn by disqualification last month) was supposed to go one-on-one with Dani Luna, but Jinny took Luna's place because Luna no-showed. This was a fairly basic bout that served as a showcase for Jinny and to get her back on track. I'm a fan of Jinny, but she has clearly has hit a wall on this brand. She's unsuccessfully challenged for the NXT UK Women's Championship a few times already and won't be the one to beat Meiko Satomura, so I'm not sure what this latest push for her is going to accomplish. NXT UK Heritage Cup Champion Noam Dar def. Sam GradwellThis match came completely out of nowhere and had a weird dynamic with both men being heels, but I'm all for Gradwell getting more opportunities because he's so damn entertaining. It followed the same formula as most matches contested under the Heritage Cup format, but they kept it interesting and worked a great pace. I didn't think Gradwell had a chance of becoming champion so soon after Dar won the title, but at least he looked credible in defeat. Overall ShowI know people over in the United Kingdom don't celebrate/observe Thanksgiving, but this felt like a filler episode here in the United States. The main event was random yet enjoyable, and outside of the well-wrestled opener, nothing stood out as special. In fact, they're holding out on the bigger bouts (Pretty Deadly vs. Moustache Mountain for the NXT UK Tag Team Championship and Ilja Dragunov vs. Rampage Brown for the NXT United Kingdom Championship) for the coming weeks. This was a fine albeit unspectacular show.
