NXT Cruiserweight Champion Jordan Devlin def. Amir JordanIt's cool that Devlin is still able to defend the Cruiserweight title. He was the original champion after all and I'm hoping he'll be able to travel soon so we can get him against Santos Escobar in a unification match on NXT. As for this outing, it was decent. Jordan wasn't a very compelling challenger for Devlin as there was zero reason to believe he was going to win, but it was well-wrestled while it lasted. Jinny def. Isla DawnMuch like the opener, this match was fairly predictable coming off Jinny's interference in the NXT UK Women's Championship Falls Count Anywhere match a week or two ago. That said, Jinny winning was the right result. They made the most of the time they had and Dawn impressed me more of than usual. Jinny showing more aggression was great to see and it will make her more of a threat to Kay Lee Ray when the time comes for her to challenge for the championship again. A-Kid def. Trent Seven to Win the Heritage CupThe entire tournament has been hit or miss with the rounds messing with the flow of the matches at times, but I thought this was a terrific way to cap it off. It was built up to feel like a big deal and they told a strong story throughout with A-Kid fighting to prove himself as being on Seven's level. Seven was the established star here, so it was more important for A-Kid to have his moment. Now the key is capitalizing on this achievement and ensuring he doesn't get lost in the shuffle. Seven is fantastic at elevating others and deserves props for putting A-Kid over huge here. Overall ShowAlmost every episode of NXT UK since its relaunch in September has had an above-average main event with a subpar undercard. That was once again the case here, though the main event was given a ton of time and lived up to the hype. The Cruiserweight Championship was defended as well, but the bout isn't worth seeking out in my opinion. All in all, it was a solid show and the hype for next week was well done. Happy Thanksgiving, folks (or at least to those who celebrate it)!
