Rampage Brown def. Flash Morgan WebsterApparently Webster's new gimmick is that he goes around slapping people backstage and challenging them to matches. The problem is that this is the third time he's done it in recent months and he lost yet again, making him look like a complete moron. Despite that, this was an enjoyable opener with Webster selling really well for Brown's hard-hitting offense and bouncing around like a madman. Brown winning was a no-brainer with what happened later on in the show. Angel Hayze def. Isla Dawn by DisqualificationIt boggles my mind that NXT UK is still trying to get this Isla Dawn vampire gimmick crap over, even now with fans being back in attendance. It isn't working and just comes off as stupid. What's worse is that she's a mediocre wrestler at best, so it's not like her matches are worthwhile, either. This was more of the same from her. I can't say I've seen someone get disqualified for pulling their opponent's hair for more than five seconds, but it did result in Dawn losing to a literal jobber, so that was unintentionally funny. Rampage Brown Attacked NXT United Kingdom Champion Ilja DragunovDragunov has really come into his own as a talker and is absolutely the correct choice to be leading the brand as its champion at this point. He recapped his struggles and recent win over A-Kid before being interrupted by Brown, a challenge Dragunov happily accepted. You had to know this was coming eventually and I'm glad they didn't immediately get to it, especially if there's a chance Brown wins. I know that sounds crazy because Dragunov's reign is just getting started, but I could see a scenario where Brown wins to cement his heel turn and put Dragunov back in chase mode. It's not something I necessarily want to see, mind you, but it's a possibility. NXT UK Women's Champion Meiko Satomura def. JinnyJinny is one of those perennial contenders to the title who will likely never actually win it. She consistently has quality matches and takes the champion to the limit but falls short every time. It's not an awful spot to be in, but even though there were some slightly suspenseful nearfalls, I never actually thought she would win, especially when Blair Davenport indicated right beforehand she's next in line for a title shot. Nonetheless, they put forth a great effort and had a nice match. Overall ShowThe main event, while not a barn burner, is worth checking out and I appreciated seeing the ladies get the spotlight. There was also a clear focus on the NXT United Kingdom Championship for a change and it looks like we now know who the new number one contender is. The Isla Dawn match was a complete waste of time, but otherwise, this was an entertaining edition of NXT UK that featured some fun wrestling between the opener and main event.
