By Graham "GSM" Matthews Bray Wyatt def. R-Truth This was nothing more than a glorified squash match for Wyatt, but it was decent while it lasted. As much as I despise Truth, he isn't bad in the ring at this stage of his career, but he still doesn't intrigue me or any viewers whatsoever. He obviously doesn't pose a threat to anyone and I fail to see what purpose he serves on the roster at this point. What's worse is that he's saying "Woop there it is" before his matches. Does Vince McMahon not realize it's 2015? Happy Black History Month, folks. Ugh. At any rate, Wyatt has been on the roll of his career as of late and I'm excited for how his pending feud with Undertaker will play out. Paige def. Summer Rae It's amazing to think it was two years ago these two were feuding down in NXT, and look where the women's division is there now! Then again, look how far the Divas division has come in those two years: not far at all. If you go back and watch their encounters down in NXT, you'd know their capable of having a pretty good match. While there was nothing wrong with this match and it was half decent, it lacked substance and wasn't anything out of the ordinary. The Bella Twins were the Bella Twins on commentary and that was it. Just another cookie-cutter Divas feud. Fandango def. Adam Rose I'm still confused: Are they trying to turn Fandango face? If so, it's not working because he's still getting booed, and I don't blame the crowds at all. He's not doing anything that would elicit a babyface reaction, and turning him face is the plan, WWE is putting zero effort into doing so. Rose and Fandango are two very good wrestlers with terrible gimmicks the fans couldn't care less about, so you had to know this was going to result in a throwaway match. Daniel Bryan and Roman Reigns Won Tag Team Turmoil I understand the match was constructed to tease tension between Reigns and Bryan and see if they would coexist, but with nothing on the line, why should anyone have cared? The only match of the six they had that was remotely good was their encounter with The Usos. Reigns' history with them and the commentators acknowledging it was a nice touch, but the rest of the matches they had were complete garbage. Plus, Bryan and Reigns pretty much annihilated the entire tag team division (with the exception of Cesaro and Tyson Kidd); why aren't they the champions? It just made the entire division look weak as hell. Big Show "turning" at the end was just the cherry on top of this being stupid. Hopefully that was a one-off and they aren't actually turning him again, but God knows we need Show as a face less than two months after he turned the first time, especially now when there's a surplus of babyfaces as it is. Overall Show Without a doubt, this had to be the most worthless edition of SmackDown since it moved to Thursdays one months ago. I realize they had to make due with what they had because half of the roster is currently on the Abu Dhabi tour, but absolutely nothing of note happened on this show. Wyatt competed in a quick squash, the Divas had a forgettable match, Rose vs. Fandago was a waste, and the tag team turmoil was dragged out far longer than it needed to be and it hurt the tag division more than it helped Bryan and Reigns. Needless to say, skip this show if you happened to miss it and spend the two hours watching NXT TakeOver: Rival instead.
