The Prime Time Players def. Los Matadores

I hate to sound like a broken record, but it's a real shame The Prime Time Players aren't on TV more regularly. They were pretty over with this crowd and they could be a popular babyface tandem if they received more TV time. We've seen them battle The Ascension a million times, so it was refreshing to see them go up against Los Matadores for a change. The only complaint I would have is that the finish appeared to be botched a bit. I didn't notice it until the replay, but when Darren Young pushed Fernando (or Diego? who cares) into El Torito on the apron, he delayed falling down to the ground, so it came off as awkward. Other than that, it was a nice match. Los Matadores have an insanely stupid gimmick, but they're still excellent athletes. As I noted in my Main Event review, it would awesome to see this streak of wins earn the Prime Time Players a spot in the WWE Tag Team Championship picture, but I'm not counting on it.

The Lucha Dragons def. The Ascension

Although the Prime Time Players got a fresh set of opponents in Los Matadores, that meant we were relegated to seeing The Lucha Dragons vs. Los Matadores yet again. However, don't take that as a complaint, as these two teams always work well together and this was no exception. I've always enjoyed The Ascension (I know, I'm in the minority), but it seems that The Lucha Dragons are the only team to truly get a good match out of them. The Ascension was on offense for the most part, but the Dragons had their fun comeback at the end to pick up the win.

Overall Show

There was no topping last week's star-studded edition of Superstars (or at least as star-studded as this program can get), but this was an enjoyable follow-up show. It was a solid showcase for the tag team division and both matches were good. It also gave me hope for the future of the tag team division in that if we can get just a few more teams, the state of the division could be even better. Still, it's slowly but surely improving, and that's all one can ask for at the moment.
